At this year's Belgrade International Architecture Week (BINA) we are organising a unique workshop for primary school students in higher grades. The aim of the event is to promote and stimulate students of English language in a creative way.
The workshop is based on a number of pictures of street signs and messages from the UK.

It consists of two parts: PowerPoint presentation and creative part. The first part is conceived as a guessing game in which students see an inscription/message and their task is to presume what this inscription could mean, what the message conveys and where the sign with the inscription could be placed. Each message can have several meanings and each sign could be placed in several different places, thus all answers are correct. In this way, participants are encouraged to freely express their opinions. Afterwards, the picture of the sign itself is presented in its real setting.

In the second part of the workshop, students make signs by themselves and conceive messages in order to be able to place them in their city, street or school.

"City Signs" has been created by Božica Šarić Cvjetković.
