The British Council would like to invite you to our event focused on the development of and support to entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans and in particular, Serbia.
We will be talking about and assessing the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Serbia and the entire region, while having the opportunity to exchange experiences and learn from best practice models from our local guests as well as UK experts. We are happy to take this opportunity and announce that the study research on barriers to development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Western Balkans region has been completed as a part of our project in partnership with the Swedish Institute. Extensive scoping and research has been done by the University of Hertfordshire who will be joining us at the launch event to present the main findings and highlights that will help start-up conversations and steer decision-making.
On this occasion we will have the outstanding opportunity not only to discuss the research results for the first time, but also to exchange experiences, learn from each other and share valuable resources and information with the key stakeholders. We are honoured to announce that we will be welcoming Mr Ketan Makwana, a renowned international speaker and serial entrepreneur who has started, scaled and sold multiple businesses.
Mr Makwana launched Enterprise Lab which is now operating in 11 countries training 100.000 people a year with a focus on mind-set development for ideation, innovation and leadership. Apart from being an advisor to the UK Government on youth and enterprise policies, he works with International Governments and Ministries on enterprise ecosystem development and is the Head of Operations at Rockstar Group, the UK’s leading funding and mentoring organisation that has mentored over 7.000 businesses and delivered £12m funding to over 2.000 businesses.
The programme will start at 9.00 with registration opening from 8.30 and the event will take place in English. The agenda will be distributed to you prior to the event to all registered for the event!
