At Tuzla Rock School in Bosnia and Herzegovina, young musicians can find people to play with and take their ideas from a first rehearsal to a recording. In the film, Anes Husanović of Tuzla Live explains why it matters for teenagers to meet peers who share their taste in music.

Participants describe working with UK mentors, writing original songs and learning how to record and produce them. One young musician explains that the workshops gave them their first experience of making a song from scratch. The film also follows the group on a visit to their UK partner, WaterBear, the College of Music.

The partnership also brought UK mentors to Tuzla for workshops on 5 and 6 September 2026. Bringing this experience into a local music school gives young people more ways to develop their skills and make music together close to home.

The British Council supported the partnership through Creative Growth Western Balkans, a programme developed in partnership with BEYOND Studio.
