BIOGRAPHY

She graduated biology in Belgrade. An author of award-winning children's books from popular science. A pioneer of flipped teaching and author of a YouTube channel with video lessons from biology. Microsoft Innovative Expert Educator, associate at the MARCH project, Edmodo Coach, Core Skills Trainer for the British Council on the 21st Century School Project, a WWF consultant on the development of educational programs in protected areas.

Moodle mix – Integration of chemistry and science

The hybrid Moodle course integrates chemistry and science. The times of these two subjects were related to one another. Students had the opportunity to use digital resources in a scale with their own pace and learning needs. Animations, simulations, and extended reality used as working material for performing tasks that lead to the formation of abstract scientific concepts.

High School of Professional Studies in Information Technology ITS has been operating since 2006, when the first generation of students was enrolled. At that time it was accredited to enrol 60 first-year students in the Information Technology study programme. Another study programme – E-Commerce was accredited in 2010 and two more programmes, namely Business Systems Organisation and Computer Multimedia were accredited in 2012.

Let's build bridges and transcend barriers using ICT

Using social networks and translation tools, the deaf and hard of hearing students successfully communicate with their peers abroad. In this way, barriers in their communication are being transcended, and knowledge of English acquired in the classroom applied in a real life situation.

Iva has a Masters in Defectology- surdoaudiologist. She teaches English at the secondary school 'Stefan Dečanski' for students with hearing impairment and hard of hearing. Leader of the literary club and school magazine editor. Coordinator of international school cooperation projects. Member of the Council of the Academy of Central European Schools.

We communicate with ICT

Students of the school for children with damaged hearing 'Stefan Dečanski' and primary school 'Branislav Nušić' have found a new way to communicate. The use of ICT helped them overcome communication barriers, establish mutual cooperation, learn and get to know each other better. Together they marked EU Code Week 2014 and 2015, they programmed and realized the project at Edmondo platform on the topic Choice of interest.

Iva Urdarević is a graduated surdologist - teacher and works as an English language teacher together with her colleagues Katarina Aleksić who is an IT teacher and Verica Arula a Serbian language teacher in the school for students with damaged hearing.

Educational programming as a means for learning

Ivan will focus on developing modern programming for every child strategies and content and studying how they can be implemented in ordinary state schools, for every child – every girl and every boy – to foster their 21st century skills, to foster their skills to learn by exploring and constructing.

Ivan Kalaš is a professor of Informatics Education concentrating on developing Informatics curricula for preschool, primary and secondary stages, developing textbooks and other teaching/learning materials for ICT in education. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Microsoft Partners in Learning programme and a member of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education.

School Wiki Corner

School Wiki Corner is a product of joint work of pupils and teachers in activities within the “Our School- Wiki School” project. Following completion of the project, a few seventh and eighth grade pupils have, together with their mentors, continued working on analysing and creating free knowledge on Wikipedia and Wikimedia pantry within the School Wiki Corner with an ambition to establish a new school club. Teacher and pedagogical advisor at a small village school, in a combined class, specialist in nature and science subject methods and MA holder in educational policy. Participated in various projects aimed at improving quality of education and upbringing. Author of the inter-school project “Our School- Wiki School” implemented under the auspices of Wikimedia Serbia..

Technology enhanced learning - new perspectives in higher education

In the presentation Ivan first outlined the characteristics and importance of technology enhanced learning and open educational resources in higher education. Then he presented the BAEKTEL project, "Blending academic and entrepreneurial knowledge in technology enhanced learning", as well as the Centre for e-learning and distance education at the University of Belgrade.

Presentation of educational material downloaded from the Internet that gets a new life in a real environment. Printing of these free virtual toys and games creates inspiring tools for each child in the classroom.

Ivan graduated from Leningrad State University with specialisation 'Maths Methods Psychology of Individual Differences'. He was the winner of 'Internet Projects for Education' competition in 2001 and scholarships of IFF (USA) for Internet communication in 2006. He has received the award for research in modern communications in 2009 and grant for Print&Play education in 2011. Now he offers free downloadable tools for educators.
